How is the new record different from Near Tonight?

This record has a real cohesive sound to it. It was approached as a studio record where Near Tonight was just different collections of demos. It sounds more natural and organic and It rocks! The new CD has 11 songs versus 15. There is a dog on the new cover- but looks very different than the first. The tunes are a little different. That's about it for now. -todd

Johnny, how did you and Todd hook up and how did you join Lapdog?

At the time, Randy and I where both playing in a local band together. Randy asked if I would be interested in recording some demo songs for Lapdog. I jumped at the chance and proceeded to do some demo recording with Todd. Todd asked if I would be interested in playing a show the band had coming up. I played the show and everything went great - after the show we figured it worked so well, why not join the band! The rest as they say is history! -johnny h.

Why don't you allow taping at live shows?

That was just a temporary policy while we worked out our new album live, so tape away at future shows - good luck on getting a loud rock band to sound clear on tape! -Todd
